2 weeks today till retreat

Well in 2 weeks I will be on my way to the quilt retreat, was playing with more Granny Squares and assembled a few rows they are so much fun making and fast don't know how big this will end up just using my scraps till I run out. Wanted a tote for my cutting mat and rulers to bring to retreats, well all was going well till I boxed the bottom and now it's not wide enough-- it was to fit my 24x18 mat horizontally now it has to go in vertically, so I made the handles a little longer.

20 Dozen

Bagged the perogies and got 20 dozen should be good for awhile. Randy never did the overnight, but I did get to sew the 2 BOM blocks and 1 granny square felt good to sew that was yesterday this morning I made 2 more granny squares and 1 Swoon block. Three weeks today retreat time.

Perogies made

Started early and got all the perogies done will bag them tomorrow morning to see how many I got made. I cooked up 20 last night for supper and only 3 left they were so good.
Well Randy is doing an overnight tomorrow so it's my day to do some sewing no need to stop and prepare supper yahoo.

Making Perogies

Procrastinated enough want perogies for supper today, bought a Starfrit chopper and it is awesome 5 onions chopped in no time, used to grade the onions for the potato filling and my eyes would water so bad, this works great, dough made just waiting for the small bowl of filling to cool in the fridge then will make some perogies my mouth is watering already
24 days till retreat, went out of town on Sat. and we swung over and got my 2 blocks for the BOM want to make them up this week sometime, then when it's retreat time will pick-up April's blocks, other than that no sewing.
Yesterday it was a beautiful day so I spring cleaned the master bedroom log walls, curtain and washed the bedding and hung on the line. Smells so fresh.

Granny Square

Well it seems there are a lot of ladies making Granny Squares, so I figured I'd give it a go have a lot of 30's fabric scraps, so this morning I started cutting 2.5" squares, made this one and when I trimmed it turned out 8.75" square so will have to make the rest this size.

 

Retreat is 27 more days away, I had 3 projects to bring so now I will have 4 -- I won't run out of anything to do now.

Been down with a cold yuk

Today I feel so much better darn colds anyway. I bought a new back up iron called a Shark and I'm in love, has an extra long cord heats up fast and the steam output is awesome, will have a real test on it in 1 month from today when I'm off to the retreat.

I did get all the fabric cut for the 2 projects that I'm bringing to retreat in did I say 30 days from today
Need to work at the Thrift store tonight, nothing else happening here, was going to clean the 2 closets in the spare rooms but not into it right now, would like to get motivated enough to make a dutch oven of potato cheese and onion filling and get some perogies made up, I got all the ingredients. Well time for coffee and Young and the Restless.

More spring cleaning

What a beautiful day sun shinning, this is what gets me cleaning, I can open a window while I'm washing walls and can hang the curtains on the line. I got the main bathroom done and the other spare room, now a sore back - dam ladders up and down up and down. Will now take a break from the ladder, will ding out the 2 bedroom closets tomorrow. Never checked the mail for fabric will do that tomorrow too. Time for my soap and a coffee.
