Putting it away for sure this time???

Yesterday I finished the last 8 blocks and assembled the rows, last night I kept thinking about the top and this morning I did my favorite part of the quilt putting it together. I then cut the 178- 2.5" squares for the border next is to cut the 2.5" strip before the border, it is now put away for the retreat.
I got my pattern for the Iron Caddy, this might come with me to retreat also.
Going to make an angel food cake with whip cream and strawberries for Valentines Day.
Swoon is my next quilt project so need to go through my stash.

More cutting for the Journal's top

The last 14 blocks are cut might do 1 block tomorrow and see how it looks. The only other cutting is for the border and they are 2.5" squares a mix of all the fabric collection. I also decided to do the 4 flying geese at once and the 8 half square triangles at once should go together quicker, hard to believe this will make 14 blocks
Went for a nice walk this morning the snow was hard enough to walk on top of the banks so nice to see the sun. The river has opened up a bit now not just a sheet of white.

Playing with the Journal

Yesterday and this morning I got all the pieces assembled and ready to put together I counted 57 pieces per block, I made 1 block to see how it will look I like. I also got the 16 blocks for the top and bottom completed. I want to take this project to the retreat as the girls like to see the next quilt in the series so I am only going to cut the next set of 14 blocks and there are way more pieces per block than this one.
