Been down with a cold yuk

Today I feel so much better darn colds anyway. I bought a new back up iron called a Shark and I'm in love, has an extra long cord heats up fast and the steam output is awesome, will have a real test on it in 1 month from today when I'm off to the retreat.

I did get all the fabric cut for the 2 projects that I'm bringing to retreat in did I say 30 days from today
Need to work at the Thrift store tonight, nothing else happening here, was going to clean the 2 closets in the spare rooms but not into it right now, would like to get motivated enough to make a dutch oven of potato cheese and onion filling and get some perogies made up, I got all the ingredients. Well time for coffee and Young and the Restless.

More spring cleaning

What a beautiful day sun shinning, this is what gets me cleaning, I can open a window while I'm washing walls and can hang the curtains on the line. I got the main bathroom done and the other spare room, now a sore back - dam ladders up and down up and down. Will now take a break from the ladder, will ding out the 2 bedroom closets tomorrow. Never checked the mail for fabric will do that tomorrow too. Time for my soap and a coffee.

Kids left--- started spring cleaning

Shawn and Dee are on there way home to the Island, they have family to visit on the way.
I decided that I had to do the sheets might as well do some early spring cleaning, so walls and logs washed down, curtains, sheets and quilts washed room vacuumed, smells nice and clean. Thrift store going to get stuff as I decided to get rid of stuff. Back sore might get another room done tomorrow. Randy home today cold and what babies they can be. Chicken noodle soup in the crock pot and sandwiches for supper works for me.
Still no sign of material yet, so not much happening in the sewing dept.

Swoon

Just had to make a few of these Swoon blocks made 3 of the 9 blocks needed for this top, they are BIG blocks 24" I ran out of the white fabric so will have to wait till I get out of town even if I have to wait till the retreat I can pick it up on my way there. I did cut the main colours for the remaining blocks. Still waiting for my layer cake and background fabric for Flurry which was a free download pattern.Shawn and Dee went to Red Deer to see his son Brandon and family for a few days left on Mon. thinking they will be here today sometime. Made a batch of blueberry scones this morning go glad I found the recipe for these. Not much else happening here. About 42 more days till retreat wishing this was April 1st not March 1st.

Surprise Company

Knock on door around 3 p.m. My son Shawn and dil Deanne at door, knew they would coming just didn't know when, had tried to phone him to welcome him home but they were not answering calls they needed time to connect after 7 months big adjustments when apart for so long,

3rd finish for 2012

 Finished the Civil War Anniversary scrappy quilt this morning just did a baptist fan, can't really see it by the pic I don't have a stitch regulator on my Bailey 13 so I need to find my groove when I'm quilting I can live with this, it's no longer a UFO.

My son who was deployed in July 2011 to Libya has finally come home to Canadian soil, so proud of him and his crew, hope to see him soon wants to come home and go sledding
