Garden Trellis

This is a fun easy quilt top to make pattern calls for 1 layer cake and border yardage and white for the trellis strips. It reminds me of sherbet, fabric is from Connecting Threads called Riveria

High Water

tree hanging over bank can see roots exposed

log jam is almost gone

no gravel bars and the little island is flooded
The river is so loud right now it has risen and we keep getting more rain, we won't get flooded out as we are back from the river, there has been a lot of trees and driftwood flowing down the river.

Trip back in time

As I was making chicken noodle soup in my crock pot was thinking that in the 70's the colours for appliances were either Harvest Gold or Avocado Green, I had the gold for kitchen stove and fridge. For some wedding gifts I ended up with an assortment of both, this crock pot is 40 yrs old and still works great with the High, Low and Off dials, has a couple chips but other wise good shape, if it's not broken don't fix it.

I have been playing with this top which has no name that I know of, found the block and just made up into this, now I need to decide on a border with the rest of the jelly roll that is left, I have something in mind just need to work it up.
The weather has been crazy so far with lots of rain gardens have lots of weeds, I have 2 flower beds yet to get to then back to the veggie garden, tomorrow is suppost to be nice. Randy wants to replace the logs on the top of the back arbor this weekend the ones on now are rotten as we never got around to staining them, he has the new ones pealed and stained, fingers crossed the weather will be nice.

Granny Square #8 finish

Quilted and bound the Granny Square quilt used my 30's scraps feels good to use up scraps

Think this will be it for awhile as Autumn will be coming for summer holidays and we are usually at the art centre playing with clay, if I get the next BOM early could get Wildflower Rhapsody into a top.
Think we will have cabbage rolls for supper so better get the rice cooked.

Progress on Wildflower Rhapsody

Wildflower Rhapsody

Played in my sewing room and got WR caught up and assembled, thinking next month will be the last of the BOM as all there is left is borders, I have already decided to add the 1st border which will make it the right size for my frame if I add the last border it will be 94" x 107" to big for my frame and would have to send it out to a long armer at the cost of over $300, which I don't have.

Wow it's already June

Gosh can't believe how time flies, made a trip out of town last week to get the next 2 BOM blocks for Wildflower Rhapsody, got them pieced and got part of the centre put together.
I was so ticked when my order I have been waiting for was sitting in Van. which is only 6 hrs away from me for a week + 2 days for the price we pay for shipping, well I finally received it and got the backing made for the Granny Square top it is now loaded and ready to be quilted. but when the weather is nice I have to be outside gardening. I got the veg garden weeded and I must say there were more weeds than veggies growing.
Randy should be going to the bush next week and he will be staying over night, so I should be able to get some uninterrupted sewing in.
