Stars for a New Day is a top

Just finished adding the last borders on measures 82" square decided not to add the last 1 3/4" strip as the binding will corral the top and I can fit this on my frame. Nothing else on the go except for the tisket basket and the last block will be released on the 5th. Ordered a quilt kit called Civil War Tribute it won't be here for probably 3 weeks.

Got the 3 floater strips attached and the flying geese next is the last border and the directions will be released in a couple of days.

Been working on the 24- 6" blocks, just finished adding the set-in tris and medallions to the centre, next is 3 floater strips and flying geese maybe tomorrow,just in time for dec. directions

Update on Stars for a New Day

Got all 72-4" sawtooth stars done now I need to make 24-6" assorted blocks, just needed a brake from the small pieces so bounced to Memory Lane.

Memory Lane is now a top

Memory Lane is a BOM from Block Central it calls for 2 borders but I decided to just do the one, so my size is 72" square the finished size on the original is 92" square my frame would not be able to handle it at that size, and it's pricy to send out to get quilted. Now I need to get the backing pieced, couldn't find anything in my stash right now.

Great Birthday

I got a great surprise Shawn called from his ship he's on his way home from a South American tour should be home in 10 days been gone for 2 months. Also got lots of birthday wishes and a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my sweety.

Working on new project

I've been working on my new project called Stars For A Hew Day, I subscribed to the Quilt Show to get this BOM which started this yr. I've got the centre, 36 2" 4-patches, 36 -4"pinwheels and 176 flying geese done. Next is 12- 6" assorted blocks or the 76- 4" sawtooth stars for the outer border. Will try to get pic as soon as I attach the pinwheels.

Today I made 2 apple pies made the house smell so good, day before yesterday I made 18 dozen perogies, it's an all day job but worth it.

The next block has been released so after this one only 1 more to go. So will be working on this one.

12th finish for 2009

Used the 4" civil war squares I've been collecting for the back. This quilt is a real scrappy quilt.

It's a top

Reminisce is now a top it's only 60" square deciding if I should add a border it's kind of too scrappy for me.

Productive Day

Worked all day on Reminisce, I'm at the point of attaching the 2 borders of blocks and set-in triangles should be a top tomorrow if all goes well.

Still working on this top just finished all the flying geese, this one to me is too dark or too scrappy got to keep going or it will end up in the back of the cupboard, will post a pic of progress later.

Latest Finish

Wow it's been awhile since I've posted, so I'll start with this latest finish and when I get time will update the rest of my finishes. This one is called Sylvia's Bridal Sampler there are 140 - 6" blocks.
