Decided to assemble the 20 blocks and add to the centre, not sure of the colour combinations so far on this quilt, I like the next set of 14 block's colour choice, will see as it comes together.

All I've been doing is cutting fabric wish there was a quilting fairy that would do all my cutting think this is the lest favorite thing to do in the quilting process. The fabric I've been cutting is for the CW Journal's blocks I have 1 more set of 14 to do yet, lots of pieces in this last one. This will all help for the retreat in April, just piece together no cutting. Thinking of doing 1 block of each of the sets just so I can see what they are going to look like, and to tell the truth I'm intrigued about the whole quilt.
If Randy goes to camp tomorrow for an overnight will try to get one of each done and will post pic.

Got the centre assembled was alot of seams to match up then cut the fabric for month 4 which has 10 blocks.
Gosh it's cold here today, can't hear the river at all not a sound outside so quiet.

On Friday I got the CW Journals kit and I love the colours of course me and my love for reproduction fabrics. This morning after I snow blowed I decided to put the pattern pages into my binder with the first 2 quilts, then cut out the first 2 months which will make the centre block, hope tomorrow I can get started piecing the blocks, This top is smaller than the 1st 2 measuring 84"x102" so I should be able to quilt this one and save $300 to send to the long armer.

My little conure Rafter passed away this morning knew something was up yesterday as he slept most of the day and wasn't eating I have had him for 19 yrs and what a character he was, my eyes are so sore from crying, so many memories, don't know why he had a cage as he never went in it, he perched on top, when he screeched it was always something he needed, like his food dish was empty, water in his dish so he could bathe in it, and when I made spatzel (German noodle) he wanted some now right now, never worried about the cat or any new cat about attacking him as he put everyone in there place he had the run of the house, Sadie (dog) and Rafter would play in the l/r, he so loved his stuffies his favorite was a gorilla that he plucked and would cuddle it would snuggle himself under the gorilla's arm and go to sleep. ok got to stop as I'm crying again I so miss you my little buddy.

Got 2 finishes already for 2012 Red and white is ready for Valentine's Day will hang it in the living room, the scrappy civil war quilt top is loaded on the frame ready when ever I am.

Got the red and white quilt top quilted with meandering loops now for the binding. Loaded the blue and brown civil war quilt on the frame and when I was looking for the batting I came across some wool batting going to try it on this top. Connecting Threads has batting on sale now till I think the 20th so we will see if I'll be ordering more.
I needed some red thread for the red and white top and all I had was some Aurifil thread boy it sure has lots of lint, I use Connecting Threads Essential and I really like it and a good price. Will post a picture of my 1st 2012 finish.

Just got an email that my CW Journal kit has been mailed so should get it in 2 weeks that's usually the norm from the States to Canada. Started quilting the red and white quilt top this morning just doing a meandering with loops, about half done taking a break my back gets sore. My New Years Resolutions for the last 3 or 4 yrs has been that I can only have 3 projects on the go at once BOM's don't count. Seems to work for me so I don't end up with lots of UFO's Well I have 3 so if I finish the one I'm quilting I can start the CWJ when it comes.
Pieced the backing for the 2 CW quilt tops, will load one soon as I'm done with the red and white.

Well I got to sew today and got over 300 mins. in my groups marathon. Got both Civil War quilt tops completed so now I have 3 quilt tops to quilt, there is not many quilts I want to do this year so far that always changes but for sure the C W Journals, and finish the Wildflower Rhapsody that is a BOM that I started in Oct. of 2011 I bought a yummy fq bundle called 1862 Battle Hymn civil war fabric of course don't know what I'll do with it yet.

Well just got back from out of town needed some backing fabric for the red and white quilt, fusible web to cut into strips to fuse batting pieces together, and I bought myself a sewing machine tote with wheels have wanted one in awhile and they were half price will try it a out for the spring retreat. The last block for the CW Anniversary quilt will be released tomorrow so I should get both quilt tops put together then to decide on the borders I have some ideas, will post pics when I get them done.
I'm in a group
and they are having a New Years Day quilt marathon so I'm ready should be a productive day we did it last year so we want to beat last years minutes, there is quite a few joining in when ever they can.

This is the quilt tops I started at the fall retreat 2 tops with 1 jellyroll and yardage not fond of the big blocks but needed to get these done, decided to make it reversible, thinking of just having it out and if any company comments on it well Merry Christmas and out the door it will go.

OMG it's been awhile

Been awhile from my last post well the count down to Christmas. Made some butter tarts this morning shortbread done yesterday, gifts bought and sent, only Randy??? Need to make poppycock yet but the stores here have ran out of unsalted peanuts will try again on mon. guess everyone is baking.
Going to be a quiet Christmas, nobody coming home this year, might just roast a chicken.
On the sewing front I went to pickup Dec. bom and they had the next 2 months ready so got them and they are completed, the big blocks that I started at the retreat are now assembled and loaded on the frame, this one will be reversible(called Serendipity from the Missouri quilt co. 2 quilts with 1 jellyroll and yardage) not to crazy about them but they are done, will just meander this and get it over with. Ordered a fat quarter bundle of Barbra Brackman's new line called 1862 Battle Hymn, yummy don't know what I'm going to do with it yet-- sure I'll think of something.
Civil War Anniversary BOW quilts almost done need to make todays release then 2 more, borders to think about yet, have the backing for both quilt tops.

Red and White Monkey Wrench top

Just finished this quick and easy quilt top in red and white will be a great one to hang in July for Canada Day seeing our colours are red and white. I finished the latest released blocks for the CW Anniversary quilts, and seeing there were 7 I got to attach another row to the tops only 7 more blocks to go and I will have 2 quilts, because I'm doing a scrappy and a blue & brown, still waiting for fabric for the blue and brown it's coming from Australia for the sashing, don't know what I'm going to do for borders yet, maybe mitered corners for the blue and brown using up the left over fabric from the fussy cut sashing fabric, still have lots of time yet.

Got the best birthday present this morning a phone call from Shawn he is in the Navy and on a NATO tour I'm so proud of him and his shipmates, give thanks to all the fallen soldiers that have made the sacrifice.

First snow

Well we got some snow over night not much but too soon for me, yesterday I started cutting fabric I've had for awhile and decided to do a quilt that is an easy one all the same block just swapping light and dark using the monkey wrench block and using reds and cream to beige. I wish the quilt fairy would come at night and do the cutting for me think this is my least favorite part of quilting. Today seemed to go by so fast so no sewing, or cutting think I'm about half way.
There is a dead line for sending parcels to Shawn's ship next tuesday and I wanted to make Poppycock for him, done now I need to get to his mil's and pickup her goodies and get it mailed tomorrow so it gets to the Island. Might get to sew some tomorrow hopefully it doesn't snow overnight

Finished this jellyroll quilt I messed up at the retreat somehow I cut it wrong so Jan suggested sashing and I found this fabric in my stash when I got home it's together and no border for this one just meandered, added binding had just enough so it's complete. The next project from the retreat is an idea from the Missouri Quilt Co. you get 2 quilt tops out of a jellyroll and charm pack got one part done at the retreat need to work on the second think this one will be reversible.
What a beauty of a day sun shinning got the pump out of the pond, and when the clouds started to lift I saw the fresh snow, hope it stays up there for awhile

Been looking for this fabric and seeing it's an older collection is hard to find well looks like I found some in Australia, thought I would have to leave some blocks out of the blue and brown quilt, need the fabric for the sashing.
Got the backing made up for the top that at the retreat cut something wrong as the blocks were not square maybe too much visiting and not concentrating, was going to scrap them when Jan said put sashing between them so when I got home I found fabric in my stash that worked. It's all loaded on the frame ready to be quilted.
Got CW Chronicles back from longarmer today so now for binding.
This morning I finished the rag quilt I started at the retreat had to go back to quilt store out of town as I need more flannel for the backing squares.
Bought some plain beige material for another quilt I started at retreat it's going on point and the left overs are going into the backing so it will be reversible.
These last 3 quilt tops are not what I usually make but I thought I would step out of my box and try big blocks well it's not me I like sampler quilts. But I have to get them done or they will be put on the shelf and never completed.
Can't start anything new til these are done, Jan the lady who owns the quilt store and hosts the retreat has a BOM called Wildflower Rapsody and of course I had to sign up, so that's another project to work on over the winter.

Another awesome time with some really nice ladies, think I visited more this time around was my 4th time and there are regular ladies that come so I guess I felt more relaxed. This time my projects were pre-cuts ---charms, jellyrolls The one jellyroll project I really screwed it up, my cutting was way off then when I squared the blocks up they never matched so ended up adding sashing I can live with it, Had 2 Antique Fair charm packs and it ended up wallhanging size. Almost got the rag quilt completed need more fabric backing material. Then another jellyroll and charm pack combined need more fabric to add sashing.
Jan who hosts the retreat and owns the Quilt store has a BOM so I decided to do it. I guess in all I did get alot done. When I get around to taking some pics I will post.

Tomorrow I'll be leaving for the retreat yahoo, I'm packed just not loaded into the car can do that in the am, made a batch of blueberry and a batch of cranberry nut scones for a snack. Need to stop at the quilt store for a 12" ruler and some flannel for the rag quilt(back) and some plain white cotton, I know Jan will have fabric there she brings bolts from her store and alot of other quilty things. :) Fall is really setting in my burning bush is so vibrant, love the fall colours will post when I get back.

Nine Patch Delight is in the wash and it's a biggie 88x107 and flannel backing so that much more heavier wasn't planning on flannel. Randy was waiting in the truck and I spotted some wide fabric told the lady how much and went hunting for this line of fabric I need for my next project can't let the man wait! I didn't realize the wide fabric was flannel til I loaded it on the frame first time I ever used flannel for a backing might use it more, was cheaper than cotton.
This quilt is #8 finish for this year. My friend came over yesterday and her one brother passed away and her other brother was in an ATV accident so I sent her home with a "Hug" quilt so one quilt leaves and another replaces.
Checked my complete list and I haven't had a finish since Aug. usually don't sew that much in the summer too much to do outside
Tomorrow I think I will clean my sewing machine get some projects organized and make a list of things to bring to retreat next thurs. don't think I will be sewing til then.

I don't know if I posted that I missed out on the retreat that I usually go to Oct 13-16 phoned to late they were booked, well today hubby had a test to be done at the hospital out of town and I'm starting a new project with a Jellyroll and yardage and needed the yardage and when I was in the quilt store Kathy one of the ladies that hosts the retreat said there might be a chance of me going as a couple ladies might bow out so anybody that reads this keep your fingers crossed.
This white cat has been hanging around she is friendly to me but my dog and cat don't care for her this mama deer also checked her out to cute

This is the latest release for the CW Anniversary block applique (not my favorite) but it's done not the greatest but I can live with it.
When I was attaching the sashing on the blue and brown I thought I had just enough even had to piece some sashing together and was looking at the strips left and counted and I'm short 6 strips and I've surfed the net looking for more and nothing so the blue and brown might end up 7x7 instead of 7x8 blocks. The fabric I'm looking for is an old collection called Vicksburg by Marcus Brothers The scrappy one will have all the blocks.

Beauty

Beauty is the name of the 3rd block I've made for the Pony Club quilt, it's a beauty alright, there were so many Y-seams, this quilt has alot of Y-seam blocks now I figure I will be a pro at this or I will be bald and vow to never make another block with a Y-seam. To top this off my block ended up 8" instead of 8.5" so I added a strip around block to make up the difference. My quilt, my block!
I'm just using my stash for this quilt so no need to buy.
The latest release of the Civil War Anniversary block was released this morning and the block is applique and was a block I made in my Dear Jane quilt, I've cut out the pieces and will start hand stitching this afternoon. The weather is cool and raining so good day to sit in my chair and sew.

We have had a bear hanging around he got the plastic garbage can that was in the shop full of squirrel food, don't know were he left the can no trace anywhere.He also got the neighbours garbage, so that's why he has been hanging around When Sadie is barking like crazy it usually means the bear is around.

The bear has been back he was in the carport and he is a good size.

Got to talk to Shawn (son) this morning he is on deployment on the waters off of Lybia, they are on shore for a few days near Greece. He sounded good and was nice to hear his voice.

I'm ticked was making the latest block of the CWAnniversary (blue&brown one) and was attaching another row and sashing and thinking there is 2 more rows left look at my sashing and dosen't look like enough to me but in my mind I had just enough when I was cutting even had to piece a couple of the sashing strips so I count and sure enough I'm short 6 I've been surfing the net looking for more fabric and nothing, so I guess my top will be 7 X 7 blocks instead of 7 X 8. The scrappy one will have all the released blocks.

Think Randy has to go to camp for a couple of days so I should have my own mini retreat starting tomorrowDon't know what to play with, need backing for the 9-patch delight top, so that's a no go.

My Pony Club book has still not arrived was sent 3 weeks ago today slow mail Sure I will come up with something I did print out the BunnyHill BOM which I think is going to be the last one she is not having one next year, there is applique do I need a challenge Time will tell.

Found a pic of the 3rd quilt in the series 0f 5 being released in 2012 as a BOM this one is called Civil War Journals focuses on the civil war children's point of view, this one is not as big as the other two-- 84" x 102" I found a quilt store that you can buy the kit as I don't care for the BOM's cause I don't like waiting for the next block and I figured it was cheaper to buy the kit then pay a monthly fee per block + shipping.

Where has the summer gone, Autumn has gone home that was the fastest month holiday, we had so much fun even though the weather wasn't the nicest, we are now getting nice hot weather, canned yellow beans think the next picking can go to the neighbors, cucumbers not doing to great because of the weather things might change seeing it's getting hotter. I bought some small cukes and made a gallon jar of refrigerator bread and butter pickles.
My niece had her baby so I need a quick quilt to I bought 2 baby panels (couldn't decide on which one) quilted them up and just attached the binding this am. Also got caught up with the CWAnniversary blocks.

It's been awhile, I did get to play in my sewing room and got both CWA quilt tops caught-up with sashing and cornerstones I found a pic that says to me "civil war" so I printed them on fabric thinking I will do all 4 corners with it, as for the blue and brown don't have a clue what I'm going to do for the 4 extra blocks. Using fabric from my stash for the both.
Randy might be going to camp tomorrow til Thurs this means no interuptions Yahoo.

Randy away overnight so figured I'd get some extra sewing done, took Sadie for a walk early so she wouldn't bug me and who comes into my sewing room is Sadie doing the something is in the yard that's not suppost to be there action so out I go to see whats up she is barking at the park and snorting around the pond so I do a walkabout in the park I see nothing thought maybe a bear came through, she is sniffing around the pond and I don't see anything so I sat on the deck to see if she would calm down when I see a splash in the pond go look and there is a muskrat swimming around I scouped him up with the fish net and took him down to the river he swam down river a bit then climbed on shore hope he doesn't come back, do they eat fish cause if so my fish might be gone will look later.
I did get the last 2 blocks for the CWAnniversary done but it's such a nice day my 1 day quilt retreat is going to be short want to clean the flowerbed behind the pond.

9-Patch Delight

Haven't posted in a bit been busy playing outside got the grass thatched and on Mon. got the fertilizer put on, expanded the flowerbed off the deck. Cleaned up some of the other flowerbeds too. Well today is a cloudy and drizzling rain so was a good day to play in my sewing room, got this 9-Patch Delight quilt top completed. So now I have 2 quilts to quilt, the only other project I want to do is make a wallhanging out of the Quilting Diva fabric.

Caught up with Civil War top, been playing with a quilt called 9-Patch Delight got the centre together and now 2 sides of the border need pieced and attached think I need 26 more 9-patch blocks left to make for the top and bottom borders, I cut this down and it still is going to be big hope it will fit my frame. Got my Diva fabric today want to fussy cut and then frame them with strips of bright fabric, just love her.
Yesterday I started a new project called 9 Patch Delight I have 20 lg 9-patches done 3 lg. alternating blocks finished and 3 more cut and ready to piece need 12 of these, then lots of 5" 9-patches for the border.

Finished with the binding for this quilt(Starry).
Got back from Vancouver on wed. went to see my baby sister she was not doing well at all she is in the hospital and I figure she will be there for quite awhile, she now has no movement in any of her limbs, they are going to insert a feeding tube into her stomach so she gets better nutrition, and she is on more antibiotics, I will most likely be going back to the coast again.
Need to get the 2 civil war blocks done yet the next one will be released tomorrow.
It is a beautiful day today still got snow which is going but not fast enough for me at the coast the cherry blooms were out plus the primroses, dafodils and roddies.

Had an awesome time at the retreat and got lots done 2 tops finished and 3/4 of the 3rd top done.This first top is one I seen on the Connecting Threads catalogue and I had a fat quarter bundle so I winged it. and the second top is the 2nd in the series of 5 this one is called Civil War Chronicles, as you can see from the pics we still have lots of snow, there was hardly any at the retreat.
Need to make the latest released block of the CWAnniversary quilt
this week and hopefully get a backing made and loaded for the first top.

Finished the 12th blocks of the Civil War Anniversary quilt. Thursday I go to the retreat 4 more sleeps. The weather has been nice but the snow is not going fast enough. Sad news I think I lost all my fish in the pond somehow the plug to the de-icer came off and the pond was iced over and I can smell a strong fish odor, not happy had these fish eating from my hand.

Got another block section done and got about 5 more Ohio stars made definitely will need to get more light fabric . 13 more days til retreat it's getting closer. I also added the lg triangle pieces to CW Chronicals top all that's left is to attach the borders, this is a large top.

Just finished one block section of Eventide this is a real soft colour top so far. I think I won't have enough background fabric, will have to pick up some hopefully they have it at the quilt store in Salmon nArm when I go to the retreat.

Well I finally got my pattern and material for this yesterday I pressed all the fq's and this morning I made all the lg hourglass blocks, hopefully tomorrow I can make some ohio stars and then I will post a pic. Retreat is getting closer 2 weeks this thurs, wish it was closer I'm itching to go.

Played this morning and got 2 more blocks made and attached this is a project you can work on any time just sew strips together, don't know what I'm doing wrong but I think when I'm squareing up I'm off with the point you can see in the picture I'm not fretting over it will try to square up better.

This is Bonnie Hunter's pattern Virginia Bound I don't have the pattern so I made up a template from the block Priscilla I found in EQ I made it 14.5" unfinished this is what I have so far now that the picture is up I must check the first block and adjust the points they look off????or maybe it's the tan strip.Should get a better idea when there are 2 more blocks attached hopefully tomorrow I can play.

Finished the latest block release took awhile to get the blue and brown blocks done as I wanted a square effect in the centre it's not perfect but way better than when I started.
This morning I made 1 of the 8 blocks left to do from the CW Chronicals top this top is coming with me to the retreat next month and should come home as a top.

Still waiting for this pattern and the fq bundle for this quilt

New Cedar Chest

I haven't started this weeks CW Aniversary blocks maybe tomorrow, been on a cleaning frenzy maybe cause it's been sunny and spring is around the corner. No sewing as I need to save my projects for the retreat next month.

Just finished adding the rest of the borders and it is a top was going to be 6 blocks x 7 blocks but it would have been huge and would have to send it out to a longarmer so went with 5 x 6 and it ended up 75.5" x 90" good size so now I have 12 blocks left so they are going to be part of the backing.
I have to stop sewing as at this rate I will have all my projects done and have nothing to work on at the retreat in March.

Jellyroll quilt

Sew 2 jellyroll strips together
Cut a 4.5"plain WOF to bothsides of the jellyroll strips Then cut @ a 45 degree will get 8 blocks and when pieced 2 lg blocks, the way you turn them you will get 2 different designs. This is what I've been working on. Don't understand why the pics are backwards? start from the bottom and work up on this post.
I've decided to do the first pic of this post got them all assembled and now adding a mint polka dot sashing and assorted prints of the leftover fabric from the cutting on the 45 also got some end pieces that look interesting for maybe part of the border will see what happens Hope to work on the last 3 rows, will be 6 blocks wide x 7 long should be a good size this is a real cheery quilt good for a winter day.

Yesterday I looked high and low for the star in a star block couldn't"t find it in EQ or Blockbase, was looking for it as I seen a quilt on the cover of the Connecting Thread catalog and figured I could figure out the pattern, well last night when sitting in my chair in the l/r there was Shakespear in the Park quilt hanging on the quilt rack and there was the block, so I got 5 done and need another 15 will cut fabric tomorrow and I have ran out of the bg fabric and had to order it on line, it really ticks me that we don't have a LQS here, it takes almost 2 weeks to get an order. I will be able to get the lg star points done then I'll be on hold. Tomorrow the next block for the CWA quilt will be released so I will work on those 2 blocks(1 scrappy and 1 blue & brown)

Perogy day

Well today I made a dutch oven pot of potato mixture for perogies, going to have some for supper, they are alot of work but so worth it.

Dough:

2 eggs beaten
2 tsps. salt
1 Tablespoon vinegar
1 cup oil
3 cups warm water
9 cups flour (no more no less)
Combine all and kneed for about 3-4 mins and let rest for 10 mins.

Potato Mixture:
potatoes to fill dutch oven pot cooked
3/4 of a large jar of cheese whiz
1/2 cup marg
3 med graded onions
Usually cook this day before I make the perogies.

Just finished the last 4 - 13.5" blocks all I have left now are 16- 7.25" unfinished blocks 8 for 1 block and 8 for the second.I hope my batting comes today as I need to stop playing with this top as I wanted this project for the retreat. The roads have been closed due to avalanches and it's raining so wiill probably be more but will check mail when I go grocery shopping.

Well the 3rd block for the CW Anniversary quilt has been released and I did it but I know that I will never make a whole quilt with this block. I'm not a perfectionist so my points on the stars are not pointy. Hope the 4th block will not be appliqued as this is not my favorite.

Got the start of a cold yesterday my throat was scratchy and head feeling like a ballon and a runny nose today it's here for sure.
Yesterday the plan was to cut and bag fabric and make a couple Pumpkin/cranberry loafs well that didn't turn out that way----did get all the fabric cut and bagged, will be hard not to make some blocks seeing they are ready to start. but it took me all morning til afternoon doing that so never got the loafs made so this morning after Sadie and I went for a walk I made 4 of them. Then had to snowblow as be got another dump of snow overnight and still snowing. The rest of the day will be layed back.

Well attaching these lg pieced triangles sure made this quilt top grow, this will be on point, I have to stop working on this as I need something to work on if I decide to go to the spring retreat. I did cut and bag fabric for the next group of 3 sets of 4 blocks still need 3 more sets and some are sets of 8 blocks.

Shawn and Deanne left for home this morning seeing it stopped snowing, so it was strip and wash sheets vacumn etc. and get the house back to normal.

Working on CW Chronicles quilt got part of the centre attached and made the next 4- 12" blocks, next are 16 pieced triangles and I think I better hold off for awhile as if I decide to go to the retreat in March I need something to work on. I don't have anything else in projects on my list which is strange for me but nothing has got my attention yet though this has happened before and I ended up with 4. Need to start surfing quilter's blogs for ideas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well I got to play in my sewing room and got 5 blocks done on the CW Chronicals top and cut fabric for the next 4 blocks.
Shawn and Deanne left for Red Deer this morning to see Brandon for a couple of day.
Talked to my bil and my sister who is the quad is in the hospital again with infections, so I was thinking that I might catch a ride with them when they go back home to see Anna then catch a bus home.

Well it's been awhile the big day is over and was very quiet nobody home for Christmas this year first time ever. Christmas eve day I cut fabric for my next project called Civil War Chronicals fiqured I'd sew Christmas day as Randy was playing in his shop. Decided to make the border blocks first as there are 68- 6" blocks, this morning I finished them took me 5 morning to get them done, in the pic they are hanging inhalf other wise they'd be on the floor and Cinder (the cat) would be all over them. Next I'll start the centre block maybe tomorrow.

Shawn and Deanne are suppost to be coming home for a New Years/ wedding reception party.

Ritz Cracker is now a top

Just finished Ritz Cracker this morning made it bigger and added a piano border can't believe this top only took 1 jelly roll and 2 charm packs it measures 68.5" x 83" Think I might use muslin for the backing with hopefully a strip of the left over jelly roll vertically to break up the muslin,----- yes I have more of the jelly roll left!!! I loaded the top on the frame but need to buy some muslin if I go that root.

Yesterday was test day for Excel I feel that I did alright could have used a few more minutes to change the page breaks in 2 of the projects but ran out of time. This morning I started quilting Circle of Friends quilt top with a baptist fan panto and I'm running into problems with the applique my darning foot has an open area and it's catching the applique going to get Randy to attach a washer on the bottom of the foot if I knew what to use for an adhesive for metal on metal I would have it done, so I'm on hold til tomorrow I guess.
Well going to the Island is out Randy has some tests to be done on the 23rd and if they find anything he will be having surgery, Autumn and Kris (granddaughter & son) I think are coming for Christmas.
Got to go to Vernon on Thursday as Randy has some lung test, seeing we are there I can get some Christmas shopping done and supplies for baking.

Got my marks for Word

Our instructor for Microsoft Word was at the college and she posted our marks and I got a 98% was I shocked thought I did well in the written but I know I forgot to change the spelling errors on the second page there were 4 small lines deduct 1/2 mark for each error and that would have been my 100% if I would have made the corrections. Well Excel might be a different story not catching the formulas, some of the ladies in my class are going to the college tomorrow to study I will be there too.
Snowed again over night so had to snow blow the driveway again before I went to class. It is starting up again dag nab it. Going to go through our pre- test for Excel that the instructor gave out today and later will have to practice some lessons we went over today.

Civil War Chronicles Kit

The 2nd in a series of 5 Anniversary of the Civil War. Put the patterns in clear paper covers and added them to the binder with Civil War Tribute the 1st in the series

Just finished snow blowing the driveway and shoveled off the stairs Sadie is a pain in the neck as when you are pushing the scoop she grabs the side and it steers off.
Had Excel class yesterday and we are covering formulas and I don't seem to get it, class again tomorrow and Friday then test on Mon.

Hair cut

Went for a hair cut this morning my stylist told me the last time I was there was in May :o
well she did cut it kind of short then. No sewing, snow blew the driveway this morning after Randy fixed it the float was stuck that's why I couldn't start it yesterday.
My CW Chronicles kit should be here this coming week thought it was going to be here last. I got the Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student off ebay last night so it should be here next week also, my laptop came with the trial and it expires in Jan.
Shawn and Deanne aren't coming for Christmas now as his ship is on standby and there has to be a % of men available and there are guys that have not been home in ages and their families are on the east coast, Shawn was home last yr. Kris and Autumn are suppose to be coming home. Randy had a suggestion that I go to Victoria for Christmas if I decide to I will take the bus to and back, still mulling it around.

Backing made

Got the backing fabric made up and loaded on frame for Circle of Friends also got the bobbins wound. The idea I had for the border for the Ritz Cracker top is scrapped need to come up with something else.
When I started the car this morning could smell gas, backed out of driveway and noticed a lg. wet spot checked and it was gas took to my mechanic he wasn't there but got an app.for 1 o'clock got the bill $113. $7. for the gas line and the rest was their hourly rate + taxes of course.
Start Excel tomorrow morning Another cold day, but the wind is not blowing so hard today.
